CLAT is the BABY BROTHER of CAT!
It is largely a mental ability exam.
It does not require dedicated exclusive preparation. Contrary to popular beliefs, CLAT exam preparation can take place along with engineering, medical and commerce examinations.
Thus, any student in any stream, be it engineering, medical or commerce- all can give the CLAT exam.
Unlike IIT-JEE, PMT or the Class 12 boards, one need not study 12 hours daily for the CLAT exam. Even if you start preparing in Class 12, one year before the boards, preparing just ONE HOUR A DAY will guaranteed get you a seat. But yes, put in one hour a day everyday.
Therefore, CLAT preparation can take place side by side with IIT-JEE, PMT or Class 12 Board Preparation.
CLAT can also be called the baby brother of the CAT- The Common Admission Test for the IIMs. Both exams have English, Mathematics and Logical Reasoning as part of their syllabus. Though the CAT is tougher with a higher level of competition, the CLAT nevertheless introduces you to this examination, which you might in all probability give after graduation.
